Increased provision of latrines is generally believed to be effective in reducing exposure to faecal pathogens and thus preventing disease. This article depicts how improved sanitation approaches should not only meet international coverage targets but also be implemented in a way that achieves uptake, reduces exposure and delivers realistic health gains.

CDD Society will be conducting a 5-day training programme on DEWATS™ for Engineers in collaboration with BORDA and RGRHCL at CASS, Bangalore, from 08th through 12th December 2014 at the Center for Advanced Sanitation Solutions (CASS) in Kengeri, Bangalore.
